Are you looking for
memory for a Gateway computer?
If you are looking for
memory for a Gateway desktop, tower, workstation, or server, it is important to note that
some Gateway model numbers sound somewhat similar. For example, there is a Gateway P5-133 that uses simm modules, and there
is a Gateway P5-133 that uses dimm modules. Exact same model number, just different
upgrades. There's the Gateway P5-133 that uses 4-clock dimm
modules, and there's the Gateway P5-133 that uses 2-clock dimm
modules. That's just one example, but there are so many Gateway computers that
have identical model numbers but are completely different computers, using
completely different memory upgrades. So if you wish
to place an order for memory upgrades for a Gateway computer, and would like to be
sure that you will be receiving the correct upgrades, it is best that you choose your
computer's motherboard number, or bios version number, or both, instead of the model number.
If you're unsure
of what part number your motherboard is, first try to find your invoice. In most cases,
the motherboard part number and/or bios revision number will be listed on your invoice. If
they are not listed, or if you cannot find your invoice, then please call Gateway
technical support at 800-846-2301 and get this information before you place your order
with us. If you cannot get a hold of Gateway for any reason, then your best bet is to
take the bios revision number from your computer. Reboot your computer. When
the system first boots, the BIOS revision will appear at the top of the screen. Write it
down on a piece of paper exactly as you see it. Then click on the BACK
button of your browser, and then click on the appropriate motherboard or BIOS revision number if it is listed. The same BIOS may be used
on several different motherboard part numbers in some cases, which means
that those motherboards would accept the same upgrades.
